Body recovered from river

Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer of the Ladysmith K9 Search & Rescue Unit was called out to recover a dead body from the Ingalkuni River on Friday, which is in the Ekuvukeni policing area.

The body of a 20-year-old woman was recovered from the river.

Warrant Officer Meyer was assisted by two female officers from Ekuvukeni SAPS.

Ekuvukeni detectives are investigating an inquest into the incident and no foul play is suspected.

The deceased has not yet been formally identified.
