Burst pipe a problem for residents and municipality

A burst pipe under a business premises in Murchison Street has caused major inconvenience for people residing in flats in the area, as well as business personnel.

The burst pipe, under a building behind Glasfit, has left businesses struggling for water since Christmas.

Municipal workers were seen trying to fix the pipe, but can’t seem to get through as it is under a building.

“How did the municipality approve a building being built over a main water supply?” asked a concerned resident.

The resident also stated that they haven’t had water today (December 29) and pleaded that uThukela do something about the situation as soon as possible.
