Today is International Anti-Corruption Day

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is calling for all people across the globe to join a worldwide campaign to raise awareness about corruption.

This awareness campaign focuses on how corruption is an impediment to achieving sustainable development goals which aim to promote safe societies, end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

On this day (January 9), which marks ‘International Anti-Corruption Day’, the world is united behind a good cause in stamping out corruption wherever it is found.

People from all spheres and walks of life are encouraged to condemn this scourge that plagues the planet, and to report any and all corruption they come across to the authorities in order to secure a corruption-free globe.
