Hackers hack Ladysmith municipality Facebook page

Alfred Duma Local Municipality’s Facebook has been hacked by hackers.

The source of the hack has not yet been identified and it could be the ‘Wannacry’ ransomware attack that has been targeting computers worldwide.

So far, only the municipal Facebook site has been hit.

Worldwide, the attack has hit more than 200,000 victims in at least 150 countries.

The municipality say their page has been violated or hacked, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

They say that if the old page does resurface, it will be deleted.

The new Facebook of the municipality can be found HERE.
