Warning: Helpmekaar Road closed due to protest action by angry residents

Helpmekaar Road is currently closed due to heavy protest action by angry residents.

The road has been closed near St Chad’s, with residents taking to the streets to fight for service delivery in the area.

The protesters are demanding electricity in their homes.

Burning tyres, tree branches and rocks are scattered all over the road, and no vehicles can pass.

Public Safety and police are monitoring the situation.

Motorists will have to use alternate routes.
