5SAI welcoming parade to be held

The 5 South African Infantry Battalion (5SAI) will conduct a show of force today (September 12) in order to create awareness about the ‘welcoming back parade’ to be held on Tuesday next week for the SANDF members who were deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On Tuesday, September 18, Mayor Vincent Madlala will welcome back those patriotic individuals who continue to serve and defend our country, even at the risk of their own lives.

Today’s programme is as follows:

Convoy to depart from the army base via Harrismith Road at 9am; turn into the R103; turn into the N11; pass through town; drive through Steadville; drive through Tsakane; from Tsakane to Pieters; Ezakheni E-Section; Ezakheni B-Section; Ezakheni C-Section Clinic C1-C2-C3; Ezakheni Plaza; Ezakheni A-Section; St Chad’s; and then back to 5SAI via Mkhamba Gardens.

“The community is welcome to observe the convoy and participate where applicable, with clear observation of protocol,” said municipal communications officer Siya Maphalala.

Motorists are urged to be cautious and vigilant.
