Breaking News: Attempted hijacking in Mimosa Road leaves elderly couple injured

An attempted hijacking took place earlier this evening (November 2) in Mimosa Road.

It is believed that an elderly business owner and his wife had just dropped off workers who live in the street.

The business owner made a U-turn and while exiting the street, five men jumped out from the side of the road and opened fire on the vehicle.

The driver managed to hit one of the hijackers with the car before crashing into a wall.

The suspects stole the driver’s firearm and fled the scene on foot.

The business owner’s wife was injured in the shooting and the husband sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Both of them were treated on scene before being taken to hospital by emergency personnel.

Police are currently investigating the incident and a manhunt for the suspects is underway.
