Update: uThukela struggles to restore water to hundreds of homes

It’s been over 24 hours since hundreds of homes had their water supply cut off due to an electrical fault at Ezakheni Bulk Plant.

uThukela District Municipality sent out alert messages to the public, informing them that the situation regarding the electrical fault at Ezakheni Bulk Plant remains the same.

It will take longer than expected to fix the damaged cables and the switchgear.

uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza stressed, “We are trying to sort out the situation and will update the community on progress made.”
