IEC hosts internal science expo

The Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) held its internal mini science expo today (May 18) at the school.

The purpose of the event is to encourage and motivate learners to educate themselves about their surroundings through various topics in the arena of science.

The learners went out of their way to come up with interesting topics such as ‘If sharks were to be extinct’, ‘Hookah vs cigarettes’, ‘How oceans get polluted’ and many more.

A panel of judges went around assessing the projects and learning more about them.

“The outstanding exhibits will be showcased at the Eskom Regional Science Expo that will take place sometime in August,” said Science and Technology educator Mrs A Rassool.
