A musical weekend with Shashika Mooruth in Ladysmith

The Young Hindu Cultural Service Society (YHCSS) hosted Shashika Mooruth in the ‘Let’s Celebrate Lata Mangashkar A to Z’ music concert and workshop over the weekend.

A music workshop for teens, adults and children was held by Shashika on Friday and Sunday. The aim was to build confidence and explore how the power of positive sound vibration connects with the inner soul for peace and tranquillity.

The Friday workshop was for children up to 12 years old, while the Sunday workshop was for teenagers and adults.

Blessed with the natural ability that involves communicating, teaching, healing and entertaining, Shashika conducts workshops, music therapy sessions and voice classes, as well as delivers motivational talks through her unique holistic approach.

This was not a once-off workshop, as Shashika plans to continue with these programmes in the future.

The music concert saw golden oldies being sung by Shashika on Saturday evening at the YHCSS Hall in Kandahar Avenue.

Shashika has created a unique concept of presenting the hit romantic songs of Lata Mangeshkar from A to Z in the alphabet.

Young and old flocked to hear Shashika’s mesmerizing voice.
