The reason why Ladysmith residents are left without water

Many people in Ladysmith are confused as to why they are sometimes left without water for hours and others are left with low-pressure taps.

Well, this is because water-shedding is back in full force.

Water-shedding is in place in many areas of town already and could spread to other areas until enough rain falls to help the levels of the dams and rivers.

Water-shedding will have a major effect in the following areas: Golf Course, Observation Hill, Hyde Park, Limit Hill, Modelkloof, St Chad’s and Steadville (top).

This all depends on water stock levels at the Ladysmith Plant on any given day.

Residents need to make sure they are prepared for days when there is no water by storing this precious resource in case of an emergency.

Residents are urged to use water sparingly, as Ladysmith is still experiencing drought conditions.
