#Violence

In a matter of days, close to 16 people died as the taxi war in and around Ladysmith flared up last month.
The most frightening factor in the taxi violence was the high number of innocent people killed.
Many of the dead were teachers, a scare resource desperately needed at the schools they served.
In the wake of the October mass shooting, residents have appealed to all parties to end the senseless killing.
But taxi violence is far from being the only culprit in the spiral of violence that has gripped the town.
#BlackMonday was a campaign by local farmers to highlight the plight they face. Isolated, alone and far from help, they live in constant fear of farm attacks.
